Subject: [scsi] remove scsi_dh_alua
Message-id: 12284479751934-git-send-email-mchristi@redhat.com
O-Subject: [PATCH] PATCH RHEL 5.3: remove scsi_dh_alua
Bugzilla: 471920
RH-Acked-by: Alasdair G Kergon <agk@redhat.com>
RH-Acked-by: Tomas Henzl <thenzl@redhat.com>

From: Mike Christie <mchristi@redhat.com>

This is for 471920.

We were going to add scsi_dh_alua for 5.3 as a tech preview, but
we are a little worried it is not up to that. Originally EMC had
wanted it for 5.3, but had trouble with resources for testing
and development so we decided to push EMC support for alua to 5.4.
This is the reason it is not even in the scsi_dh_alua device table
that is used to bind the module to devives. However, the driver
can bind to other devices and we thought the other vendors wanted
it and were going to test. It turns out only EMC has been working
on it. We have got some bug reports from them, and have not got
anything from any other vendor. So since the only vendor that cares
about this support is ok with shipping it in 5.4, this patch just
removes the module for now.
