From: Hans-Joachim Picht <hpicht@redhat.com> Date: Thu, 12 Mar 2009 15:22:51 +0100 Subject: [s390] kernel: Shutdown Actions Interface Message-id: 20090312142251.GE5103@redhat.com O-Subject: [RHEL5 U4 PATCH 4/20] FEAT: s390 - kernel: Shutdown Actions Interface Bugzilla: 475563 Description ============ The new shutdown actions interface allows to specify for each shutdown trigger (halt, power off, reboot, panic) one of the five available shutdown actions (stop, ipl, reipl, dump, vmcmd). A sysfs interface under /sys/firmware is provided for that purpose. Possible use cases are e.g. to specify that a vmdump should be automatically triggered in case of a kernel panic or the z/VM logoff command should be executed on halt. Bugzilla ========= BZ 475563 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=475563 Upstream status of the patch: ============================= The patch is upstream as of git commit 99ca4e582d4a4088969681efff97be44d98421a1 Test status: ============ The patch has been tested by the IBM test department. Please ACK.
