Subject: [PATCH RHEL-5] Add kernel support for Areca RAID controllers
Date: Fri, 11 May 2007 13:58:09 +0200
Bugzilla: 205897
Message-Id: <46445A51.8020102@redhat.com>
Changelog: [scsi] Add kernel support for Areca RAID controllers

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=205897

These patches are from Nick Cheng (nick.cheng@areca.com.tw) and they are in the upstream.

The arcmsr driver provides support for a line of RAID cards. This includes PCI Express SATA controllers.

The patch was tested by me on a i686 machine with an ARC-1220 controller with raid configurations 0,0+1,5.
For testing I used the programs verify-data and iozone.

To the .config file we have to add this option

CONFIG_SCSI_ARCMSR=m

Tomas
