<title>Creating a new image</title>

After selecting this action, KIso asks, if you would like to create an image of a CD.
If so, please insert a CD into your CD-Drive an click "Yes".
If you want to create an own image click "No".
Now you can add files to your image with the help of the button "Add File", the corresponding entry in the menu or the contextmenu within the filebrowser.

Through drag'n drop with the help of the directorytree on the left hand side of the mainwindow or the contextmenu directorys can be added.
If you wish to create a new directory, this can also be done with the contextmenu.
Images can be merged through dragging them from the directorytree to the mainwindow.
Through selection of files or directories in the filebrowser and pressing the Del-Key or the contextmenu within the filebrowser files and directories can be removed.

To extract an image the image has to be opened first.
For this purpose use the corresponding menu entry or button in the mainwindow.
If an image was opened and the action extract image was chosen, a filedialog will appear, in which you can choose, where to extract the image to.
Through pressing "OK", KIso will extract the image.

<title>Adding a file to an image</title>

The addition of a file or directory to an image is done with the help of a filedialog.
To add an entire directory use drag it from the directorytree on the left hand side of the mainwindow to the filebrowser.
By dragging an image from the directorytree to the mainwindow you can merge images.
Alternatively you can make use of the contextmenu.

A filedialog appears, where you have to choose, where and under which name the actual image shall be saved.
By pressing "OK", KIso begins to create the image.

Choose image which you want to convert to an ISO image in the filedialog that will appear.
After pressing "OK" the conversion begins.
The resulting ISO-Image can be found in the same directory as the original file or if you don't have 
write access to this directory it is posed into your home directory.
Currently supported formats are: BIN/CUE, C2D, CDI, IMG, MDF and NRG.

<sect1 id="encrypt">
<title>Encrypt an image</title>

Choose this entry to create a copy of an image encrypted with the algorithm rijndael-128.
This is useful for backups with critical content.
The encryption makes use of the program mcrypt which thus has to be installed on your system.
Please be aware that the work with encrypted images consumes double of the space on your harddisk.

<title>Burning an image</title>

After pressing "OK", KIso starts the burning program, and passes over the image file.

<title>Adding a bootimage</title>

Just choose the Add bootimage entry within the extras menu or push the  corresponding button.
You will then be given a filedialog where you can choose the bootimage to add.
If added an image, this will be indicated by an icon on the upper left corner of the file window.
The bootimage can be removed with the contextmenu.
You can obtain a bootimage from every bootable diskette by using the dd command for example.

<title>Setting the lable for a CD/DVD</title>

Now you can enter a new label for the image.

<para>CD Size: Here you can choose a CD Size, so that KIso can estimate how full a CD would be with your current selection, if you create or manipulate an image.</para>
<para>KIso Skin: Here you can choose a skin for KIso. If this field is empty, KIso uses it's standart surface.</para>
<para>To learn how to create a skin for KIso please read the manual.</para>
<para>Show hidden files: This determines if hidden files within the filesystem shall be shown.</para>
<para>Button sounds: Here you can choose wether or not KIso shall play sounds when hovering over a button.</para>

<para>Burn Program: Here you can tell KIso which program to use to burn images.</para>
<para>Audio Ripper: Here you can choose which program KIso shall use to rip Audiotracks.</para>

Through confirmation with "OK", KIso will save and activate the new settings.
A new skin will become active after the next start.
