First time install for Xymon Monitor ==================================================================== The client needs to know what server(s) to report too. Before starting the client, edit /etc/sysconfig/xymon-client and add the server IP(s) to: XYMONSERVERS="<display server IPs>" If the display server is also installed, the default setting is to monitor localhost. Change this to the IP and host name of current machine and/or add others by editing /etc/xymon/hosts.cfg (formerly bb-hosts). It takes a while for xymon to gather information from the clients and it's not displayed on the web interface until xymon has what it needs. Some items take longer than others before being listed. The old SysV scripts for xymon and xymon-client have been replaced with a single systemd unit file, 'xymon.service'. The xymon service controls both the client and server (if installed). When enabled, the xymon service sets up xymon-client alias and either name can be used to start/stop the service, which will start/stop both the client and server (if installed).
